18thc Yellow Ground Worcester Chestnut Basket

18thc Yellow Ground Worcester Chestnut Basket

Early Worcester Dr Wall period c 1760 porcelain chestnut basket decorated in polychrome enamels on a yellow ground. Pierced lattice form walls, grooved on the outside, with scalloped rim and foot, and green rope twist handles terminating in large finely modelled decorative stems, leaves, flowers and buds applied over the basket walls.
Condition is very good:  The bowl itself is sound, no restoration, but there are a few chips to the edges of some of the petals and leaves - please look carefully at the photos.

Early English Porcelain is never perfect, and you can expect to see small stress points and imperfections. A similar bowl, in very similar condition, can be found in the Museum of Royal Worcester.
